School Of Applied Behavioral Science – BS and MA degrees
Leadership Institute of Seattle
The Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS), an organization offering experiential programs in counseling, coaching and leadership development, became affiliated with Bastyr University in 1992. Through this collaboration, Bastyr University established a School of Applied Behavioral Science and offered Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees with two tracks: systems counseling, and consulting and coaching in organizations. Graduates of these programs are alumni of Bastyr University.
LIOS is globally recognized for its commitment to leadership development through education that transforms and engages the community in ways that heal, strengthen and inspire individuals and the systems they inhabit.
Originally founded in 1969 as a consulting and training organization, LIOS offered its first academic programs in applied behavioral science in 1973 in collaboration with Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington. After affiliating with Bastyr University, the institute moved its offices from Bellevue, Washington to Bastyr University’s campus in Kenmore, Washington.
In May 2009, LIOS moved to a new facility in Kirkland, Washington and began its affiliation with Saybrook Graduate School and Research Center, a regionally accredited institution in San Francisco, California.
