Past Experience
Dr. Frederickson has 15 years of experience in research of the electron microscopic analysis of developing connective tissue and heart disease at university medical schools of West Virginia, Michigan and Washington.
Current Roles
Dr. Frederickson has 18 years of experience teaching classes in the Department of Basic Sciences at Bastyr University as a core faculty member. He also serves on the Appointment and Promotion Committee and is chair of the pathology section of the NPLEX licensing exam.

Interests
Dr. Frederickson has written five book chapters on electron microscopic analysis of a variety of tissues and organs including the brain, tooth, prostate and eye. Additional research interests include the structure and function of connective tissue fibers, ciliary apparatus of the eye, repairing myocardium following infarction, the meninges in health and disease, and male reproductive organs undergoing malignant transformation. Additional interests include the application of specialized electron microscopic techniques to the study of biological specimens.
