The influence I have on a pregnant woman will impact her child, her family, and her community. I believe in the philosophy of my
medicine, and I believe that Naturopathic medical practices promote a healthier, wiser community. My goal to become a Naturopathic
Midwife is the result of my desire to have a potentially far-reaching sphere of influence within my chosen community.
The Midwifery curriculum at Bastyr University offers me more opportunity to develop clinical and interpersonal skills than the
ND program alone offers. With training in maternity care and natural childbirth, I will be in a position to offer health care to
women and their families that expands my role as a primary care provider.
As a healing presence, as physician and midwife-to-be, I know that it is not the supplements that I bring to any patient,
but my energy that will make the biggest difference. I want to develop the technical expertise that will allow me to become
a competent, capable physician who not only assists in the healing process of my patients, but who helps bring new life
safely into this world. The Midwifery Certificate program at Bastyr University offers me this opportunity.
