General Information Official Transcripts or an Evaluation Sent from a Foreign Credential Evaluation ServiceOfficial transcripts and diplomas from any college or university outside of the United States or Canada must be translated and evaluated, course-by-course by an independent evaluation service. The service will issue a report equating foreign academic credentials to U.S. degrees, grades, credits and grade point average (GPA). The service will forward the report to Bastyr University at the applicant's request. There is a charge for this evaluation. The evaluation report must be issued by a NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) accredited evaluation service. Please visit the NACES website for a list of accredited members. Below is a list of NACES accredited services that have been used by students: Foundation for International Services, Inc. (FIS) Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) World Education Services, Inc. (WES)** International students who have attended other medical school programs and are requesting advanced standing in Bastyr University's naturopathic program should ask for additional information about advanced standing from the admissions office. ** According to CDR, the credentialing agency for the American Dietetics Association, WES has failed to consistently document "regionally accredited" on WES foreign degree evaluation reports in the Summary Equivalency Statement section. As a result of WES's omission of "regionally accredited" CDR has removed their name from the website listing and they are no longer a recognized optional Independent Foreign Degree Evaluation Agency. Students planning to apply for any of Bastyr's Dietetics programs (MSN/DPD, BSN/DPD, or Dietetics Internship) are required to use an evaluation agency other than WES.
