Connecticut Naturopathic Doctors Gain Scope of Practice Modernization

After passing unanimously in both the state House and Senate, Governor Dannel Malloy signed a scope of practice bill to modernize scope of practice regulations for Connecticut naturopathic doctors (NDs).

This scope expansion formally allows Connecticut NDs to practice more closely to the full extent of their education and training to diagnose and treat disease, order laboratory testing, perform phlebotomy and other office procedures, and to use counseling, physical medicine, and the material sciences (nutrition medicine, botanical medicine) in treating patients.
