Learn how you can help girls maintain a positive body image through running at this brown bag presentation that's part of National Eating Disorder Association Awareness Week.

As part of National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) Awareness Week, you're invited to learn about Girls on the Run of Puget Sound from Executive Director Kerin Brasch.

Girls on the Run of Puget Sound is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Since 2002, Girls on the Run has operated an after-school prevention program for third- through fifth-grade girls throughout Puget Sound.

Get inspired by and learn how you can get involved in helping young girls develop healthy living skills at this brown bag presentation.

This year's NEDAwareness Week theme is "Everybody Knows Somebody" because awareness of eating disorders is spreading, as is the knowledge that eating disorders do not discriminate — ANYONE can be affected. They affect people of all ages, gender and demographics. In the U.S., approximately 20 million women and 10 million men are battling an eating disorder such as anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorder.

Bastyr faculty and students will be spreading awareness about eating disorders and positive body image in the hallways of the Kenmore Campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. February 25-28. Please stop by to ask questions and pick up some information to help spread awareness.
