Bastyr Nutrition Grad Takes on "Dietary Disasters"

When Bastyr nutrition alumna Susan Levin, MS, RD, wrote a letter to the West Michigan Whitecaps asking the baseball team to label its 4,800 calorie burger a "dietary disaster," she hoped to make a point about the dangers of eating too much red meat. With her letter receiving media attention in places including The New York Times, The Seattle Times, ESPN and the London-based Telegraph, she might have made a larger point about the growing awareness of — and interest in understanding — diet as a means of preventing chronic diseases.
