Duties
Bastyr University seeks an outstanding development professional to lead its fundraising efforts to secure private and corporate donations. The Vice President of Development reports to the President of the University, and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and programs for all fundraising efforts within the university. Working closely with the President and Board of Trustees, this person will be actively involved in establishing relationships with potential donors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Commercial Sales, Marketing or related field required. A minimum of 7 years of fundraising experience is required with a proven track record of soliciting and securing major gifts. A minimum of 3 years experience managing the development function of an organization. Requires excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to solicit and establish mutually beneficial relationships with potential donors. Requires excellent communications skills, including public speaking, written skills and the ability to communicate clearly, diplomatically, and effectively. Ability to work independently to establish strategies, work priorities, direct the work of others, problem solve, take initiative, multi-task and exercise good judgment.
