Duties
The Administrative Assistant provides first line customer service to all Bastyr University constituencies and administrative assistance to Simkin Center. The Assistant inspires, educates and empowers all those who contact the Center by phone email or in person. The person in this position assists departments located on the Talaris Campus (Seattle) in the coordination of their administrative needs; accurately relays information to potential students; registers students for classes. The Simkin Center will be moving from it's Seattle location to the Bastyr University Campus in Kenmore beginning the first of September.
Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent experience needed. Candidates must be well organized and proactively detail oriented; have excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of filing; have a welcoming and professional phone demeanor and be committed to confidentiality in all aspects of work. This person must be pleasant, professional, self-motivated and willing to try new things; possess strong problem solving skills; must be able to work independently and to innovate an improved workflow; have skills in developing and maintaining effective and positive relationships with multiple constituencies. We are looking for someone who will be committed to Simkin Center and Bastyr mission, vision and values. Must be confident and experienced with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position; occasional evening and weekend hours necessary.
