Bastyr grads make another Seattle "Top Doc's 2009" list
Two Bastyr University graduates have been named among the 347 best doctors in the Puget Sound region by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. Dan Labriola, ND ('85), and Bruce Milliman, ND ('82), are both recognized as "Top Doctors" for 2009 in the magazine's August issue. The list is based on the responses of nearly 1,200 physicians, nurses and physician’s assistants in King, Kitsap and Snohomish counties who nominated colleagues they would choose to treat themselves and their loved ones.
Dr. Labriola and Dr. Milliman both made the honor roll under the "alternative medicine" category. Dr. Labriola, the director of Northwest Natural Health, an integrative specialty care clinic he founded in 1985, was also recently recognized by Seattle Magazine as a "Top Doc" in the Puget Sound region. He works as a consultant to a number of areas hospitals — including Seattle Children's Hospital, Swedish Medical Center and Highline Medical Center — specializing in the appropriate use of alternative and complementary medicine (CAM) therapies for patients undergoing conventional medical treatments.
In addition to his practice at the Seattle Healing Arts Center, Dr. Milliman co-directs the Sombrero Club, a community medicine clinical training program for naturopathic medical students interested in modern naturopathic primary care. He has coauthored several articles on naturopathic medical practice in the areas of practice characteristics, medical co-management and Hepatitis C, and is a past president of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
