Bastyr University is pleased to continue our sponsorship of the "Future of Health" lectures, a series of talks with notable experts discussing a wide range of emerging health issues from global policy to personal health. The following is the next lecture in the series:
Bestselling writer and physician Gabor Maté (author of In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts) has worked extensively with the severely addicted on Vancouver’s Skid Row. He explains the phenomenon of addiction by describing its root causes — a complex interplay of personal history, emotional and neurological development, brain chemistry, and Western culture. Maté will help those of us who know an addict, or have experienced addiction, gain a better understanding of the void addiction attempts to fill and how to address it.
Tickets can be purchased at brownpapertickets.com, by calling (800) 838-3006, or at the door beginning at 6:30 pm. Town Hall members receive priority seating.
