PCC Cooks presents "Mediterranean Clay Pot Cooking" with Jennifer Adler, MS, CN, Bastyr adjunct faculty

PCC Cooks

Bastyr University's Department of Nutrition and Exercise Science is pleased to continue its partnership with PCC Natural Markets to offer inspiring, hands-on cooking classes. This winter and spring, PCC Cooks is hosting several cooking classes in Bastyr's state-of-the-art teaching kitchen. Many of the PCC Cooks instructors are Bastyr graduates or faculty members, so it's only natural that we team up with PCC. And if you haven't already visited our beautiful teaching kitchen we encourage you to experience it first-hand by registering for one or more of the offered classes.
PCC Cooks classes center on great-tasting natural cooking techniques, presented by professional chefs and experienced instructors, including Bastyr's nutrition alumni and faculty, who are dedicated to using the freshest ingredients like locally grown produce, wild-caught fish and healthy whole grains.

You don't need a clay pot to make these dishes, but you'll learn to make wonderful meals in whatever pots you have with this technique. This unique class shows you how to use a clay pot and other common kitchen equipment to make delicious Mediterranean-inspired dishes, such as French Pumpkin Soup; Bulgar Pilaf; White Beans with Spiced Beef; and Upside-down Apple Tart. Class cooks with meat, dairy and eggs.

INSTRUCTOR:
Jennifer Adler, MS, CN, holds a master's degree from Bastyr University. She has a mind-body approach to nutrition, integrating her training in Ayurveda and spirituality, health and medicine. She also trained at the School of Natural Cookery in Boulder, Colo., specializing in whole foods preparation. Jennifer teaches in the nutrition department at Bastyr University and counsels clients in her private practice, Realize Health.
