PCC Cooks presents "Foods for a Healthy Hormone Balance," on Bastyr campus, November 7

Bastyr University's Department of Nutrition and Exercise Science is pleased to continue their partnership with PCC Natural Markets to offer inspiring, hands-on cooking classes! This spring, PCC Cooks is holding several cooking classes in Bastyr's state-of-the-art teaching kitchen. Many of the PCC Cooks instructors are Bastyr graduates or faculty members, so it's only natural that we team up with PCC. And if you haven't already visited our beautiful teaching kitchen we encourage you to experience it first-hand by registering for one or more of the offered classes.

PCC Cooks
PCC Cooks features dozens of fun, idea-inspiring classes for experienced cooks and food-loving novices alike.

PCC Cooks classes center on great-tasting natural cooking techniques, presented by professional chefs and experienced instructors, including Bastyr's nutrition alumni and faculty, who are dedicated to using the freshest ingredients like locally grown produce, wild-caught fish and healthy whole grains.

Foods for a Healthy Hormone Balance

Our hormones can fluctuate dramatically at different stages throughout our life cycle and can contribute to weight gain, mood swings and depression. Diet and exercise can have a significant effect on hormone production and metabolism, and whole foods and supplements are helpful for PMS, menopause and thyroid imbalance. Come learn about these issues as you sample delicious hormone-balancing dishes such as Cruciferous Crudité with Edamame Hummus, Brussels Sprouts Slaw with Flaxseed Oil Vinaigrette; Nori-wrapped Salmon; and Blueberry Yogurt Parfait. With seafood and dairy; no eggs.
