PCC Cooks presents "Fall Harvest Juicing and Raw Soups" on Bastyr campus, September 19
Bastyr University's Department of Nutrition and Exercise Science is pleased to continue their partnership with PCC Natural Markets to offer inspiring, hands-on cooking classes! This spring, PCC Cooks is holding several cooking classes in Bastyr's state-of-the-art teaching kitchen. Many of the PCC Cooks instructors are Bastyr graduates or faculty members, so it's only natural that we team up with PCC. And if you haven't already visited our beautiful teaching kitchen we encourage you to experience it first-hand by registering for one or more of the offered classes.
PCC Cooks features dozens of fun, idea-inspiring classes for experienced cooks and food-loving novices alike.
PCC Cooks classes center on great-tasting natural cooking techniques, presented by professional chefs and experienced instructors, including Bastyr's nutrition alumni and faculty, who are dedicated to using the freshest ingredients like locally grown produce, wild-caught fish and healthy whole grains.

Cherie wowed us last winter with great ideas for making hearty, flavorful and healthy drinks and soups, and she has more in store for us this fall. She'll cover an overview of juicing and how to choose a juicer, with recipes and samples of some of her most popular and tasty creations, such as Salsa in a Glass. You'll also taste Cherie's Quick Energy Soup; Yam Bisque; and Icy Spicy Tomato Soup, served with crispy Corn Crackers. Vegetarian; no dairy or eggs.

INSTRUCTOR: Cherie Calbom, MS, is the author of 16 books including the bestseller Juicing for Life. She has a masters degree in nutrition from Bastyr University, where she now serves on the Board of Regents. She practiced as a clinical nutritionist at St. Luke Medical Center in Bellevue, Wash. Known as "The Juice Lady" for her work with juicing and health, her juice therapy and cleansing programs have been popular for more than a decade.
