Director of Admissions Operations – (#19-064)


Bastyr University has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Admissions Operations at our campus in Kenmore, Washington.

The Director of Admissions Operations provides direction and oversight to the Operations and Front Office team in implementing a successful model for efficient application processing workflow as well as optimizing the student experience at our one stop welcome center. The Director is responsible for the development of strategies to streamline and improve operations and front desk processes that support the University’s recruitment, admissions, and retention goals developed with the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management.

The Director has an opportunity to represent Admissions in building key interdepartmental relationships that optimize the current and prospective student experience. Should be an advocate for the natural health professions, and for higher education in general. Some local evening and weekends are required.

As part of the management team, the Director will also participate in determining key processes and procedures that will provide for a robust prospect and applicant communication strategy.

  • Five to eight years of progressively responsible experience in a higher education or customer services leadership role.
  • Eight to ten years’ experience in admissions, student services, or customer services role.  Experience in graduate or professional school admissions preferred.  (Years of experience can be concurrent.)
  • Experience in graduate or professional school admissions preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in a higher education environment required. 
  • Three to Five years’ experience maximizing the use of an administrative student information system and/or CRM system (e.g. CAMS, HubSpot, etc.) 
  • Proficient in use of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or professional degree preferred
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly and persuasively in writing, on the phone, or in person.
  • Demonstrated experience making presentations to small and large groups. 
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License required.
