Bastyr University is looking for a full-time Security Officer at our Kenmore Campus.
Responsibilities: We are looking for a dependable, motivated and supportive person for this active position. Individual will perform exterior and interior foot patrols of 30-acre property several times per shift. Responsible for understanding and clearly articulating all University policies and procedures regarding emergency and safety response and Title IX regulations. Locks all doors and windows, checks to ensure all security and safety equipment is operational, writes detailed incident reports and maintains a daily log. Communicates with students and staff on a regular basis. Must be personable and have good common sense and follow-through. Assists Security Supervisor, and Manager of Risk, Safety, & Security, and other departments, with various tasks as needed. May occasionally help with training staff and students regarding safety and emergency procedures. First responder in times of medical and other emergencies.
High School diploma required. Current CPR/First Aid certifications, minimum 2 years of experience in safety and security, or 2 years of experience working on a college campus. Must be experienced using a computer, email and possess basic understanding of CCTV systems. Able to write and articulate well, and have some experience in diplomatically handling difficult people. Must be able to work some holiday hours. Also, must be flexible to occasionally cover other shifts as needed or as others on the team use vacation time, etc.
