Details

  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations concerning students with disabilities.
  • Conduct intake interviews for students at Kenmore and San Diego campuses, interview/approve documentation for students with ESAs in Student Village, evaluate student documentation of Disability/interpret complex neuropsychological reports, write accommodation plans for students with documented disabilities, send out quarterly accommodation approval letters to all faculty.
  • Schedule and Proctor mid-terms and finals exams per quarter at Kenmore campus
  • Recruit/Hire/Train/Supervise peer note takers, work study office assistants
  • Provide Services/Resources for Pregnant/New Parent Students under Title IX
  • Oversee and provide direct supervision and guidance to California Student Affairs Advisor/Coordinator in all matters related to the Student Access & Accommodation Office.
  • Ensure equal access for students with disabilities to all curricular and co-curricular opportunities offered at Bastyr University.
  • Serve as a resource for administrators, faculty and staff regarding disability issues, best practices in the field of disability services, current research in the area of post-secondary students with disabilities
  • Work with IT/Faculty Services/E-Learning on digital/educational accessibility issues
Qualifications: 
  • Must have in depth knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), federal and state policies and procedures in post-secondary settings.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work and communicate well with all university groups including students, staff and faculty.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient on computer communication for email, scheduling programs, etc.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. Master’s degree highly preferred.

This is a full-time position supporting the Student Affairs department.
