Bastyr’s Master of Science in Ayurvedic Sciences program has been placed on hiatus, effective for the incoming Fall 2018 cohort. Note that this impacts the Ayurvedic Sciences degree program only, and still allows for Bastyr students to engage in other forms of training and practice in the Ayurvedic discipline. There still remains an elective component of Ayurveda training for Bastyr students, as well as a robust continuing education certificate, both of which are under consideration for likely enrichment.

Ayurvedic medicine is a comprehensive, time-tested system of medical therapies, combining nutritional counseling, herbal medicine, massage therapy and bodywork, internal cleansing and immune-system support. Based on the 5,000-year-old medical traditions of India, ayurveda (“the science of life”) is quickly gaining popularity in the United States and the need for skillful practitioners trained at accredited institutions is on the rise.
