Bastyr University is an upper-division institution offering Bachelor of Science degrees in health psychology, herbal sciences, integrated human biology, nutrition, nutrition and culinary arts, nutrition and exercise science. Also offered are undergraduate entry options in acupuncture and Oriental medicine and midwifery. All students must have completed the equivalent of two years of college course work before enrolling in an undergraduate degree program at Bastyr.
Bastyr only enrolls new degree seeking students for the fall quarter. All of your prerequisite coursework must be completed before the fall quarter begins (generally in the last week of September).
The priority application deadline for all undergraduate programs is February 1st, although we will accept applications after this date on a rolling basis. Your prerequisites may still be in progress when you apply, as long as you have a plan to complete them before Bastyr's classes start in September. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for general education requirements. All students should speak with an admissions adviser prior to applying.
Important Note: All prerequisites are listed in quarter credits. To convert your semester credits to quarter credits, multiply by 1.5. For example, 3 semester credits x 1.5 = 4.5 quarter credits.
Because Bastyr University is an upper-division institution, all undergraduates are transfer students who have completed undergraduate coursework elsewhere. The University accepts undergraduate transfer credits earned at any regionally accredited college or university as long as the courses are similar in content and taught at the same level as courses at Bastyr University.
Bastyr University is now accepting completed Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees to satisfy General Education requirements when transferring into a Bastyr Bachelor’s Degree. Please note: students must also complete prerequisites specific to their major.
Incoming students who have not completed or who are not on-track to complete an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, DTA (WA); the IGETC (CA), CSU Breadth (CA) or Associate Degree for Transfer (CA) will have their courses articulated for general education credit on a course-by-course basis.
You may transfer a maximum of 135 quarter credits or 90 semester credits toward an undergraduate degree at the University. You must have at least a 2.50 cumulative grade point average, with a grade of C (2.0) or better in all required courses. Please see the Transfer into an Undergraduate Degree (https://bastyr.edu/admissions/transfer-students/transfer-undergraduate-degree) page for detailed information and policies.
