The Bastyr University library is pleased to offer the following services to alumni:

  • Lifelong checkout privileges, with mail options for those outside the Seattle area;
  • In-library access to computers and all resources, including electronic databases;
  • Assistance with retrieving full-text articles from Bastyr resources. Email the library ( for details;
  • Database tutorials;
  • Advice on developing search strategies; and
  • Recommendations for purchasing databases useful in the clinical environment.

HEAL-WA: for eligible licensed professionals in Washington State. Evidenced-based suite of resources, many of which are subscribed to by Bastyr.

Keeping up with Clinical Research: Strategies and techniques for how to stay current.

Supplementary Resources: Dr. Bastyr, Dr. Mitchell, Functional Medicine Updates, Bastyr Integrative Conference series, Center for Health Policy Leadership, and other presentations. Requires your MyBU login.

CME: Free and otherwise.

Subject & Topic guides: (LibGuides), including herbal medicine, midwifery and health statistics. Please note: access to databases is limited to current students, faculty and staff;

Bastyr Library Catalog: Alumni can check out most books for three weeks (1 renewal); DVDs, conference audiotapes and CDs for one week.

Food in the Library: The library hosts a Guess the Ingredients contest every quarter and has collected an impressive list of appetizers. See our recipes, restaurants, blog suggestions and more. Suggestions welcome!
