Join Reproductive Endocrinologist Angela Thyer, MD and Dietitian Judy Simon, RDN and prepare a tasty winter meal while learning tips on food, fertility, and cooking, here at Bastyr University's Nutrition Kitchen!

Please note: Fertile Feast is held in Bastyr's Nutrition Kitchen, Room #8. 


Here are 4 things you’ll learn when you attend the Fertile Feast class:

1) Learn the latest research on what foods can prepare your body for healthy conception and pregnancy. We’ll answer questions like, what foods should you be including in your fertility diet?

2) Prepare and enjoy tasty dishes. You will also bring home new healthful recipes.

3) Master mindful eating techniques that will guide you to healthier eating. Practice mindfulness skills that allow you to increase your awareness of hunger and satisfaction without needing to diet or restrict food.

4) Experience fun ways to add more fitness into your day. Learn how to stretch and be fit in less time and have more time for fun. Increase your accountability for faster results.


Four Course Menu is as follows:

Drink: Fertility boost infused waters

Appetizer: Roasted root vegetables

Main Dish: Mediterranean chicken with sorghum pilaf

Salad: Massaged kale salad with citrus and dried cherries

Dessert:  Winter fruit granita


Meet your instructors:

Angela Thyer, MD is a specialist in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.  As a founding partner at Seattle Reproductive Medicine, she has helped thousands of women achieve their dream of starting a family.    She is also the medical director of the Food for Fertility ™ program which focuses on whole foods and eating well to support the path to conception.   As an avid food enthusiast and home cook, Dr. Thyer is passionate about helping other women discover the joy of eating well to support hormonal balance and conception. 

 

Judy Simon, MS, RDN is a registered dietitian nutritionist specializing in reproductive nutrition. Judy is nationally recognized as an expert in fertility and nutrition and is on the Nutritional Science faculty at University of Washington. She developed the successful Food for Fertility ™ program with Dr. Thyer seven years ago. Through healthy lifestyle changes women can more successfully conceive and produce healthy families. Judy provides medical nutrition therapy at Mind Body Nutrition, PLLC in Bellevue using a whole food, intuitive eating approach.
