Admissions counselor Ariana Balayan and naturopathic medicine (ND) student Kristen Marvin will discuss the ND school application process, financial aid options and student life at this free webinar that includes audience Q-and-A.
Ariana Balayan is currently pursuing an EdD in Higher Education Leadership through Nova Southeastern University. She holds an MEd in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University and a BA in Theatre and Dramatic Literature from Wheaton College, Mass. She works at University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she primarily counsels naturopathic medical and physician assistant applicants. Ariana serves as the chair of the professional development committee for the New England Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals (NEGAP). She also chairs AANMC’s marketing and recruitment committee.
Kristen Marvin is a third-year naturopathic student at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Chicago. She is active in the Naturopathic Medical Student Association and served as the 2012-2013 chapter treasurer. She is also a student member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Prior to entering ND school, Kristen received a scholarship to play women’s basketball at Friends University in Wichita, Kan., where she received her BS in Health Management. During her athletic career she was a two-time First Team All-Conference player as well as an Academic All-American.
After graduation, Kristen worked for four years in a primary care clinic and obtained invaluable hands-on patient care experience. Kristen learned a great deal from her conventional medicine colleagues but decided to attend ND school after being drawn to the principles of naturopathic medicine. Her areas of focus at NUHS are nutrition and disease prevention.
