Current Roles

Marcy Dorsey is currently an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Science and the Department of Midwifery. In addition, Marcy teaches outpatient nutrition and cooking classes at EvergreenHealth in Kirkland and is a Health Educator at Microsoft.

Past Experience

Marcy developed and taught a 12-week Diabetes Prevention Program and taught nutrition for the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs at EvergreenHealth. She has experience with blood sugar regulation, perinatal nutrition, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, inflammation, weight management, Health at Every Size and lactation management. Prior to becoming a dietitian, she worked as an analytical chemist in pharmaceutical and environmental sciences.

Interests

Outside of nutrition, she enjoys spending time with her family, husband Jeff, toddler daughter Zelda and rescued Aussie Chile. Favorite activities include hiking and exploring the outdoors, Arizona ghost towns and reading.

Philosophy

Marcy is passionate about enriching the lives of individuals through whole foods. She strives to bring enjoyment to eating and cooking with nourishing foods for the mind and body with a sustainable approach. She is enthusiastic about sharing her nutrition knowledge and encouraging discussion about how we can make healthy choices of ourselves and guide our clients to do the same.
