Past Experience

Gabel has been clinically active in Washington State since l981, first at Stork Associates in Tacoma, WA and then at Group Health Eastside.  Since 1998 she has provided antepartal care for the CNM practice that is currently located at Northwest Hospital (formerly located at University of Washington Medical Center).  She was associated with Seattle Midwifery School as preceptor and instructor since 1982.

Well Woman Health Assessment (1992 to present).

Personal Interests

Intentional community, sustainable food production, meditation and dancing with her husband of 43 years.

Clinical Interests

Normal pregnancy and birth. She co-manages moderate-risk pregnancies with obstetricians.

Patient Care Philosophy

The birth experience "belongs" to the mother, not to helping professionals. Midwives partner with mothers and their families for safe and satisfying birth experiences. Every family is different, and it is an amazing privilege to witness the changes and growth that happen during the childbearing year.
