Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations
12-week format from September 7, 2022 to December 7, 2022 on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm-9:00pm taught by senior instructor, Laurie Levy. (No Class-Nov 23) This course is perfect for people who prefer learning in shorter classes over a longer period, want to learn with a close cohort of students, and can complete up to 4 hours of pre-work between classes. This virtual workshop will consist of the same DONA-approved curriculum as the traditional 4-day intensive class but offers a more spread-out schedule for people who want more time to assimilate the material. Completion of this training meets the criteria for three requirements towards DONA International Certifications: (1) Birth Doula Workshop, (2) Introduction to Childbirth for Doulas and (3) Breastfeeding/Chest feeding for Doulas. Our trainings have been filling up quickly and will close registration once we have reached max capacity. Registration will close on August 29. We do offer a Course Assistant position to provide technical support for the Zoom virtual classroom, and in exchange the Course Assistant would receive discounted tuition. Full tuition is $725. Participants will receive additional information, including login information once registered. 2-week format starting September 10-11 & 17-18 on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am-5:30pm taught by Kim James. This course is perfect for people who want to complete their workshop in the quickest format. Must be able to complete 4 hours of pre-workshop modules before the course begins and up to 4 hours of flipped content between the first and second weekend of class. Training is scheduled to meet from 9:00am-1:00pm on Sunday, October 23rd. Participants will be required to provide proof of vaccination and comply with mask requirements.
