With so much hype in the media about what to take and what not to take it is easy to get confused.

In this home study we will look at some of the basic supplements that most people need, who should take them and why. We will learn what formulations, doses and combinations work best, when to take them and for how long to get the maximum benefit. We will also discuss appropriate supplements for maintaining optimal health and preventing typical health hazards through supplementation, as well as specific supplements for commonly encountered conditions.

Upon completion of the home study you will be able to:

  • Describe at least one rationale for using dietary supplements.
  • Describe the action of at least two vitamins.
  • Describe the action of at least two minerals.
  • Identify at least two personal opportunities to use a dietary supplement, and choose a supplement for personal use, including preparation and dose.

Post-course quiz must be completed with a score of 75 percent or higher to receive CEUs.
