Maya Roth
ND, Chief Medical Director
Dr. Maya Roth is an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences at the School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in San Diego. She is also the chief medical director and residency director at Bastyr University Clinic in San Diego.
Dr. Roth specializes in the case method of teaching. Her primary goal in working with medical students is to impart the privilege of learning from the patient and to translate published scientific advances into the care of the patient. This approach provides students with opportunities to deeply connect with their patients and take complete ownership of their learning. In the clinic, Dr. Roth is a specialist in evidence-centered natural family healthcare. Her principle objective is to educate the patient on how to rouse the body's innate self-healing ability. This approach creates opportunities for exceptionally informed patients who are in control of their health and on track to reversing their health challenges.
Dr. Roth takes a special interest in pediatrics, immune and digestive health, and thyroid and endocrine balance. She utilizes nutritional supplements and botanicals, dietary and lifestyle modification, and bio-identical hormone replacement, when indicated, to address patients' health challenges. Dr. Roth has an additional clinical focus on the use of biofeedback to cultivate resilience and manage stress.
