Bastyr University has a great opportunity for an Admissions Advisor/Recruiter to join our Admissions team. If you’re the one to join us, you will advise and evaluate a diverse population of prospective undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students regarding program features and benefits, completion and prerequisite requirements, the application process and other aspects of the admission process. Liaising with faculty, you will lead an admissions committee for specific programs and will conduct admission interviews. Recruiting is an integral part of this position, so you’ll represent Bastyr University at four year colleges, community colleges, education and career fairs as well as other special events; traveling up to six to eight weeks per year both regionally and nationally. Finally, you’ll participate in, and take ownership of special projects assigned by the Director of Admissions Recruitment and the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management.


A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree preferred; plus at least one year of experience in a field related to higher education, recruiting or advising. Other academic experience or professional marketing experience may be considered. Experience advising international students is a plus. You must take initiative on new ideas to drive enrollment goals. You move projects forward to completion without losing focus or momentum. You are known for your amazing attention to detail. You possess strong oral and written communication, leadership, and organizational skills. You work easily with staff, faculty, and students in order to meet departmental and University goals, and you get things done without reminders.  Excellent public speaking and presentation skills are necessary for this position, as are strong PowerPoint skills. Excellent Excel and experience with database programs and/or CRMs to track communications with prospective students and applicants are a plus. Washington State driver’s license required.
