Bastyr University, a private regionally accredited institution, is accepting applications for a faculty position in the Department of Nutrition in the School of Natural Health Arts and Sciences at its San Diego, California campus.
This position will contribute to the Master of Science in Nutrition for Wellness program. Instructional duties and responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate students in human-nutrition related courses incorporating a whole food nutrition and natural health paradigm; teaching courses related to community health education; contributing broad university service through student mentoring and academic advisement, committee work, scholarship and professional development.
PhD preferred in nutrition, public health or related field; Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate level. Prefer candidate previously ranked as assistant or associate professor at a regionally accredited institution.
The qualified candidate has demonstrated excellence in teaching a variety of nutrition and public health courses at the graduate level and has experience in community health education. The qualified candidate has experience mentoring graduate projects in community nutrition or community health education. The qualified candidate is collaborative, provides evidence of exceptional communication skills and has an interest in developing new programs.
