This position serves as the electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) software expert for Bastyr Center for Natural Health (BCNH) and BU California. Provides daily support to students, faculty and staff in the clinical work setting using the EMR and PM software (EPIC Software) to include resetting end-user passwords, managing end-user software privileges, monitoring work ques, resolving error ques for labs and prescriptions, building Master Files for providers, and creating new users based on their identified roles. Works with software support vendor on resolving EHR issues and implementing system enhancements. Will disseminate software upgrade/change information to end-users. Provides EMR and PM software training to staff, faculty and clinicians as needed and recommends training plans when applicable. Develops training documentation as needed to supplement materials provided by software service vendor. Answers trouble calls and provides technical support for computer users at BCNH. Assists users in all aspects of their computer use. Consults with other IT and clinic staff and with outside software vendors for guidance when necessary.

Qualifications: 

One to two years’ experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems (PM), and two or more years’ experience providing computer user support, is required. Knowledge and experience using EPIC EMR software is highly desirable. Four-year college degree in a computer- or healthcare- related field, or equivalent experience is desirable. Must have strong project management and organizational skills. Must have excellent customer service skills in responding to end-user needs/questions. Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written. Must be able to lift and move computers, monitors and printers. Prefer knowledge of medical clinic operations, both front- and back-office. Prefer knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.
