Bastyr University is seeking an experienced and dedicated Counselor, Mental Health in CA campus.

Compensation$27.8 -$ 30.0/hrs., DOE

Work Schedule: 24 hours per week

Bastyr University Career:



The counselor for the Bastyr University California campus is responsible for scheduling and providing mental health counseling sessions for students and recording and maintaining student client therapy records.  The counselor is also responsible for maintaining weekly supervisory communication with the BU Director of Counseling Services and assisting with additional administration of Counseling Center issues on the California campus


  1. Schedules student counseling appointments
  2. Provides 45 to 50 minute mental health counseling/therapy student sessions
  3. Maintains case records pertaining to student counseling sessions
  4. Collects and processes payment from students when required
  5. Reports weekly to Director of Counseling Services
  6. Provides information to BU instructors and staff concerning counseling issues


Basic Qualifications

  1. Must be able to be in person on the BU California campus 24 hours weekly
  2. Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work
  3. California license in Counseling or Social Work
  4. Maintenance of a CA State mental health counseling license through continuing education
  5. Record of success in maintenance of confidential information
  6. Knowledge of CA ethics and laws pertaining to counseling issues

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated skill in therapeutic alliance development
  2. Relational communication skill in an academic or other work setting
