Bastyr University, a private regionally accredited institution, is accepting applications for a core faculty position in the Department of Basic Sciences in the School of Natural Health Arts and Sciences at its San Diego, California campus.
Duties: Instructional responsibilities include teaching Biochemistry and human metabolism competencies to graduate, undergraduate and medical students and other duties as assigned.
Candidate must have a PhD degree, in Biochemistry or a closely related life science, with demonstrated excellence in teaching. Prior experience teaching in a medical school curriculum is highly desirable.
Although this is primarily a teaching position, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to collaborate with current faculty in interdisciplinary research that focuses on the development and evaluation of principles and practices of natural, integrative, and complementary medicine and/or on classroom/educational research.
Salary and ranking DOE. Preference will be given to candidates previously ranked as an associate professor at a regionally accredited institution. Well-qualified assistant professors are also encouraged to apply.
