Bastyr Center, located in Wallingford, is the teaching clinic of Bastyr University, and the largest natural health clinic in the Pacific Northwest. We are seeking friendly, team oriented and hardworking individuals as the first line of contact in our medical clinic front office. This position will be in-person, part-time.

Compensation $17.50 - $18.50 per hour, DOE

Work Schedule: 20 hours per week, may include evenings and/or Saturdays

  • Scheduling appointments for numerous departments
  • Verifying patient demographics
  • Check-in/out
  • Answering multi-line phones
  • Processing applications for our discount plans
  • Referral authorizations
  • Insurance verifications both online & over the phone
  • Collecting payments
  • Creation and management of Provider schedules in our EHR
  • Providing support for our medical records and billing depts
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Education and Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, higher degree coursework preferred
  • Preferred experience in a medical setting
  • Familiarity of the basic philosophies of Natural Medicine and about various modalities offered
  • Must have excellent English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle a busy work environment
  • Strong computer skills required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Practice Management software (EPIC preferred)
  • Although we try to have a set schedule, flexibility will be necessary to help cover vacations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit or stand in a stationary position and also move about the inside of the office or building with appropriate accommodation
