POSITION SUMMARY

Bastyr University is now hiring a full time “In-Person” Patient Services Representative for our Clinic located in Wallingford. We are seeking friendly, team oriented and hardworking individuals as the first line of contact in our medical clinic front office. The position is in-person, 37 hours a week including day and evening shifts as well as Saturday hours. Pay range for the position is $17.50-18.50 DOE. This position receives comprehensive benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, Holiday pay, 403b, and section 125 plans.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule appointments for various departments.
  • Verify patient demographics.
  • Check in/out patients.
  • Answer multi-line phones.
  • Process referral authorizations, insurance verifications (both online and over the phone), and collect copays and amounts-due at time of care.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including regular attendance.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate file management with the medical records and billing departments.
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications: 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Previous experience in a medical setting with customer service emphasis.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • Requires strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Reliable, self-motivated, enjoys working with people, can handle stressful situations professionally, detail oriented, and punctual.
    1. This position schedules with 12 other departments and requires multi-tasking, and interfacing with multiple computer programs and work tasks simultaneously under time pressure in a very busy clinical environment.
  • Familiarity with natural medicine is preferred.
  • College or post-secondary training preferred.
  • Familiarity with Practice Management software (EPIC preferred).
