Bastyr University has an excellent opportunity for a Vice President for Advancement and Enrollment services, an executive position engaged in the strategic leadership and management of the University’s Advancement and Student Enrollment Services Divisions. The Vice President for Advancement and Enrollment Services (VPAES) will lead integrated fundraising programs and initiatives. The VPAES will also manage and direct all integrated marketing and communications strategies in support of the University. Additionally, the VPAES oversees the development and execution of strategic and sustainable enrollment initiatives in support of the University’s Vision and Mission.
The individual in this position accurately confidently and competently executes the work of chief development executive, including: Lead and manage the Division of Advancement in both Washington and California. Develop and implement strategies and programs for all aspects of the University's fundraising activities. Work closely with the President and a variety of Bastyr community groups in developing and coordinating institution-wide fundraising activities. Create and implement strategies and programs with the goal of building and expanding the University's base of fundraising constituents. Work closely with University departments, including the President's Office, the Provost’s Office, Finance and Administration, Student Affairs, Alumni Relations, Strategic Marketing, Bastyr University California, and the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, to develop and coordinate the implementation of strategic and integrated short-range and long-range focused development programs. The individual in this position competently executes the work of chief marketing and communication executive for the University, including: Provide strategic leadership in bringing together and implementing coordinated marketing, communications, development, and student recruitment and retention programs in support of the University’s Vision and Mission. Oversee the preparation of University marketing materials and communications, including written proposals, informational materials, agreements and other related materials needed to secure gifts to the University. Manage and direct the strategies, staff and functions of the marketing and communication staff. Recommend and implement the budget for the entire University marketing plan, including final approval for all messaging from the University. The individual in this position competently executes the work of chief enrollment services executive for the University, including: Provide strategic direction and oversight to attract, recruit, and enroll a qualified, talented, and diverse student body in a manner that meets recruitment and retention goals. Provide direction and oversight to the enrollment management team in implementing a successful admissions model. Manage and direct the day-to-day strategies and functions of the recruitment, enrollment, and admissions programs. Provide direction in the ongoing analysis of student retention statistics, soliciting and deciding upon evolutionary strategies for retention programs when necessary.
BA in Business Administration, Communication, Organization Development, or other relevant field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 8 years of progressive experience in development functions. Experience in developing and implementing institutional strategic communications projects. Experience with academic enrollment management. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven organization and prioritization skills. Demonstrated experience in successfully managing a diverse workforce in various stages of professional development and experience.
