Dave Rule, PhD, spent eight years as a fulltime faculty teaching a wide variety of coursework; Psychology 101, childhood through adult human development, educational psychology, classroom assessment, research design, and program evaluation. Dr. Rule received tenure at Marist College, NY, in 1998, where he became Director of the Graduate Program in Educational Psychology, teaching graduate-level coursework in research, community systems approaches to learning and cultural pluralism. He also worked as methodologist on both National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes for Health (NIH) grants, and supervised graduate theses.
Dr. Rule’s move to administration in 2000 has been equally varied, beginning as a Director of Institutional Research and Program Development, then serving as a Vice President of Academic Affairs, followed by three presidencies, including the presidency of Bellevue College, Washington state’s largest community college (approx. 35,000 students). Dr. Rule has been directly involved in regional and program level accreditations, including the Middle States Association, the Higher Learning Commission, and the Northwest Commission on Colleges & Universities, as well as in program accreditations (e.g., teacher education, nursing, radiography, etc.), and the development of new associate, bachelor, and master’s degree programs. He has an extensive background in budget management and oversight, strategic and educational master planning, program assessment, successful labor relations, international student programs, working with local and Fortune 500 companies, and fundraising.

Glenn Ford joined Bastyr University as Vice President for Finance and Administration in 2016, bringing thirty years of experience in higher education leadership. As Vice President for Finance and Administration, he serves as the Chief Financial Officer and oversees the financial and administrative functions of the University.
Ford previously served as the Vice President for Finance and Administration/CFO at Oregon State University. Prior to his service at OSU, he served as Vice President for Finance and Administration/CFO and Treasurer for Linfield College, and Vice President for Business and Finance/CFO at Utah State University. Ford’s thirty-year career in higher education leadership and administration also includes service at Washington State University and the University of Idaho.
Ford has a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Products (Business Management Option) and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Idaho.
Susan Weider, MS, serves as the primary student liaison and oversees admissions, financial aid, registrar, housing, counseling services, career services, alumni relations, conference services and marketing. She joined the University in 2001 as dean of students and was promoted to her current position in 2005. Before that, she spent 11 years working in student affairs administration at Linfield College in Oregon. She holds a Master of Science in college student personnel from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.

Coquina L. Deger, MBA, leads the University’s Marketing, Development and Enrollment (MDE) division to expand the institution’s footprint through growing Bastyr’s base of students, patients, donors and community in support of Bastyr’s mission. Ms. Deger came to the University in 2001 as a consultant in the marketing arena, where she has contributed to increasing student enrollment and patient visits, and to various expansion projects; and she joined the University’s executive leadership team as Chief of Staff to the President in 2014. Her dedication to the natural medicine profession has for years extended beyond Bastyr University, having played an integral role in the early establishment and development of both the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges (AANMC) and NDHealthcare.com. Ms. Deger serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Integrative Health Policy Consortium (IHPC), and in a number of advisory board capacities locally and in the natural health field.
Prior to directing her focus to natural health education, Deger’s marketing and communications career spanned diverse industries, including banking, international shipping, retail, and journalism and publishing. Ms. Deger received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University, and a Master of Business Administration from City University of Seattle.

Keith Woody is the executive director of the Office of Human Resources. In his role, he directs the operations of the human resources function for the faculty and staff, including recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, legal compliance, performance management, employee relations, training, HR systems, and payroll administration. Keith joined Bastyr University in the spring of 2005 as the director of human resources and was promoted into his current position in the fall of 2010. Prior to Bastyr University, Keith worked for 20 years in human resources management in the financial services, retail and catalog, and professional services industries. Keith has a Master of Business Administration from Gonzaga University and a bachelor’s in business administration management from Eastern Washington University.
