Mariah Johnson is driven by the desire to facilitate wellness for community through the nourishment of delicious food, knowledge, and empowerment. A recent graduate of Bastyr University's Masters of Nutrition/DPD program, Mariah is currently continuing her work at UCSF Medical Center as a dietetic intern. After completing a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and Black studies at UC Santa Barbara, she spent years exploring her interests in foodservice and plant medicine, working at a number of vibrant restaurants and kitchens in Los Angeles and completing an herbal apprenticeship.
Mariah feels a profound connection to the roots of sustenance-seeds, soil, and the ancestral wisdom of food that existed long before Western "modern science." She strives to harmonize contemporary knowledge with traditional wisdom, creating a space where science enriches rather than overshadows our understanding.
