Permaculture is a design system focusing on creating productive, environmentally sound and equitable systems for food, shelter, energy production, waste reuse and social and economic exchange. Students will learn how to design using permaculture ethics, principles and design process. Topics include understanding the landscape, map making, working with clients, water systems, annual and perennial plant systems, and more!
11-credit hours total, 1 year
Fall-Spring: 3 credits/quarter and 3 weekends per quarter 9-5pm
Summer: 2 credits/quarter
Learn to make biochar, practice the technique of grafting, visit the Beacon Food Forest, visit permaculture homesteads, create a full, real world master plan
