There are many ways - new and old - that homeopaths take a case and then determine the remedy best indicated:
“to restore health rapidly, gently, permanently; to remove and destroy the whole disease in the shortest, surest, least harmful way, according to clearly comprehensible principles.” (Organon of Medicine, Aphorism 2).
One method of analysis that has emerged in the last 20 years that helps some homeopaths find a remedy through identifying characteristics associated with the Kingdom a remedy substance is in: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral or Imponderable?
Are these categories helpful or a hindrance? Clearly for many homeopaths the concept is extremely valuable, while for others it is not. Each of us must sit with this question over many years of experience and witnessing and reading many hundreds, if not thousands, of cases. Our seasoned presenters will give cases and show their own experience in perception and analysis.

Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman, ND, MSW
Judyth is a 1983 graduate of Bastyr, where she was one of the first homeopathic fanatics. In practice for 34 years, she is as passionate as ever about homeopathy. Also a psychiatric social worker, Judyth was first drawn to homeopathy as an alternative to the profound side effects of psychiatric medications. With her husband, Robert Ullman, N.D., she has co-authored 8 books on homeopathy and one on enlightenment. She has taught worldwide, most recently in March, 2018 in Prague. Her practice is in Edmonds, WA. She is fortunate to live on beautiful Whidbey Island and in Southern Chile. Her other passions include traveling to beautiful places throughout the world, hiking, organic gardening, music, cooking, animals, community, spiritual pursuits, and co-leading the Dances of Universal Peace.
Steve Olsen ND
Dr. Olsen graduated from Bastyr University in 1987 with his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. He completed another year of study to specialize in homeopathy and received his diploma (DHANP) from the Homeopathic Association of Naturopathic Physicians in 1989. He has been in practice since 1987 and has helped many thousands of patients with difficult problems and complex chronic diseases. The teacher that most influenced him was George Vithoulkas, and he has also studied with many other classical homeopaths. He has taught at several naturopathic schools and presented at many conferences. He has a long list of articles he’s published in homeopathic journals. Books he’s published include:
Arbor Medica I and II. Positive Drug Action: rebuilding healthy gene expression.
A graduate of Yale's Family Nurse Practitioner program, Doug devoted himself to homeopathy after witnessing its healing power in his own family. He was the valedictorian of his class at the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy in 2001, and has since published many articles in journals such as Homeopathic Links, Hpathy, and Interhomeopathy. He has taught both nationally and internationally. He is also a foster parent, a grandparent, and an avid amateur musician.
Tim Shannon, ND
Dr. Shannon uses Homeopathy and Diet and Lifestyle medicine as his primary healing modalities. His original classical training came from NUNM and an advanced course of 4 years with Dr. Massimo Mangialavori. He practiced Massimo’s approach for more than 10 years – almost exclusively. Then, after several life changes – he began to branch out and trial other homeopathic schools of thought. Polarity Analysis has now become one of his main tools – though by no means the only format of homeopathy he employs.
Helga Fuller, CCH
Helga's first training was in math and physics - where she earned an MS in physics. A friend in graduate school once said that solving physics problems was like chasing a black cat in the night. Physicists are those people who enjoy chasing that same cat through a night that can last for hours, or days, or even years. She has found that good homeopaths also share this quality.
Helga is currently certified as a homeopath by the Council for Homeopathic Certification. She studied homeopathy with teachers from around the world, including Rajan Sankaran, Dinesh Chauhan, Sujit Chatterjee, Paul Herscu and Henny Heudens-Mast.
