Evelyn Wang
Chief Financial Officer
Bastyr University Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Evelyn Wang oversees financial operations of the university. Ms. Wang advises the president, cabinet, and board of trustees on matters involving the organization’s financial health including its budget, fiscal reportage, and cash flow. Ms. Wang uses risk assessment and mitigation accounting protocols to support sustainable enrollment and program growth.
To her role, Ms. Wang brings more than five-years of experience in academic leadership. While at City University of Seattle, Ms. Wang led the annual budgeting process while working closely with academic and administrative departments to align budget with institutional priorities. She provided strategic counsel to create efficiencies across multiple departments. She also led audits and tax filings for reporting to multiple state and federal agencies in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to her tenure with City University, Ms. Wang worked for assurance consulting and advisory service providers in Washington state and Indiana. She began her financial career with the Indiana Department of Revenue as a tax analyst.
Before her work in financial services, Ms. Wang studied pharmacy and herbal remedies in China. She sees clearly the relationship between humans, plants, animals, and our environment. To support healthy outcomes for more people, Ms. Wang serves as a board treasurer for Sound Child Care Solutions, a non-profit group that provides culturally aligned, early child education to children from low income, marginalized communities.
