2-week format starting March 4-5 & 11-12, 2023 on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am-5:30pm taught by Kim James. This course is perfect for people who want to complete their workshop in the quickest format. Must be able to complete 4 hours of pre-workshop modules before the course begins and up to 4 hours of flipped content between the first and second weekend of class. Completion of this training meets the criteria for three requirements towards DONA International Certifications: (1) Birth Doula Workshop, (2) Introduction to Childbirth for Doulas and (3) Breastfeeding/Chest feeding for Doulas. This training is in-person and participants will be required to provide proof of vaccination and comply with mask requirements. Our trainings have been filling up quickly and will close registration once we have reached max capacity. Registration will close entirely on February 24. We do offer a Course Assistant position to provide support for the classroom, and in exchange the Course Assistant would receive discounted tuition. Full tuition is $725. In-person, five-day core program to begin practice in evidence-based breastfeeding and lactation care for anyone who works with new mothers and their newborns; or as the beginning process for becoming a lactation consultant (IBCLC). You’ll learn to provide accurate, current and consistent information about breastfeeding and lactation and to support new families in feeding their babies from birth through the process of weaning. 13-week format from April 5, 2023 to June 28, 2023 on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm-9:00pm taught by senior instructor, Laurie Levy. This course is perfect for people who prefer learning in shorter classes over a longer period, want to learn with a close cohort of students, and can complete up to 4 hours of pre-work between classes. This virtual workshop will consist of the same DONA-approved curriculum as the traditional 4-day intensive class but offers a more spread-out schedule for people who want more time to assimilate the material. Completion of this training meets the criteria for three requirements towards DONA International Certifications: (1) Birth Doula Workshop, (2) Introduction to Childbirth for Doulas and (3) Breastfeeding/Chest feeding for Doulas. Class will meet on April 20-23, 2023. Thursday-Sunday, from 9:00am to 6:00pm (NOTE: Class on day 4 will meet at 8:30am) The Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy Workshop will empower massage therapists and other healthcare providers to become competent, confident specialists in all stages of childbearing. Successful graduates are prepared to meet the emotional, structural, and physiological challenges of pregnancy and labor and into the long postpartum period. Instruction features 80+ advanced, specific techniques, pregnancy A&P, safety guidelines, complications and high-risk pregnancies, integrative structural alignment for client and therapist, an abundance of relevant research, and proven promotional strategies. (The course is also approved by various agencies for continuing education credit.) Pre-reading of Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy, 3rd edition, as well as a classroom manual and additional supplement of techniques further deepens learning during these 32 hours of in-person, multisensory instruction. Please note: Out of an abundance of caution for you and our staff and faculty, we will be strictly adhering to all CDC and Health Advisories, including University protocols during this 4-day training. You can either audit classes or take them for credit. These 11-week classes, usually held on weekdays, are available in the nutrition, culinary arts, exercise science, health psychology and herbal sciences programs.
