Chief Administrative Officer Randy Frisch PhD, Esq.

Bastyr University Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Randy Frisch is an accomplished leader in higher education. He is the former president of City University of Seattle (CityU), where he served from 2013 to 2024. One of Dr. Frisch’s key accomplishments at CityU was an operational turn-around that restored the university’s Department of Education composite score from less than 1 to a 2.95, returned the university to positive cashflow, and grew a cash surplus.

Dr. Frisch is committed to educating the future leaders in the natural health arts and sciences. While at CityU, Dr. Frisch led efforts that expanded university partnerships and increased enrollment. He has directed successful lobbying efforts at the state and federal levels resulting in grants and financial support for students. Dr. Frisch is a champion of university faculty and staff. He was awarded a National University System Faculty Senate Commendation for his work re-writing faculty policies in collaboration with academic leadership.
