Vice President for Student Affairs & Dean of Students
Bastyr University Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students Susan Weider oversees student out-of-class experiences for the university. Ms. Weider leads student support services including housing and accommodations, ADA compliance, student activities, and mental health counseling.
Ms. Weider is an expert at building student community and culture. She designs programs and leads staff who counsel students through personal crises, emergencies, and financial difficulties. She designs key events for students including orientation and commencement.
Ms. Weider upholds high standards for behavior. As Title IX administrator, Ms. Weider leads a committee composed of university staff, through reviews of student issues and grievances to ensure concerns are addressed, and when possible reconciled.
During her 20+ year tenure at our university, Ms. Weider has directed several departments, and mentored, supervised, and trained many employees. Her in-depth knowledge and commitment to this university are unparallelled.
