Naturopathic Medicine

Timothy Schwaiger, N.D., M.A., is Bastyr's Chief Medical Director and Executive Director of Bastyr Clinic Operations. He works collaboratively with students and patients to help in any way possible, whether that is passing on current information or preparing treatment plans.

Biography

Timothy Schwaiger, ND, MA, received his naturopathic degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona, and completed a two-year residency there in Family Medicine. He has a master of arts degree from Webster University in Health Care Management. Schwaiger currently serves as Chief Medical Officer at Bastyr University in California and is a Professor of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Schwaiger has been in practice since 1999 and loves being a naturopathic physician. He uses naturopathic modalities as well as an integrative approach to family care, pain management, and cancer therapy. My focus is on helping patients receive an integrative approach to their health concerns and, when possible, offering options for drug treatment.

  • Two-year residency in Family Medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine
  • .MA in Health Care Management from Webster University

Research philosophy

Dr. Schwaiger is always looking for ways to reduce the use of medications when possible. He also spent a great deal of time researching adjunctive care for patients with cancer.
