Bastyr University, a regionally accredited private institution, is accepting applications for a faculty position in the School of Natural Health Arts and Sciences at the San Diego, California campus and teaching clinic. Instructional duties and responsibilities include teaching didactic courses supporting our weeknight Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP) program, providing clinical supervision, mentoring and advising students, active involvement in University and Department committees, active involvement in the University community and engagement in scholarly work such as research and publications. Examples of courses to be covered include theory and practice courses in areas such as clinical skills, psychopathology, trauma counseling, group counseling, counseling assessment and intervention, human sexuality, psychopharmacology, and lifespan development. Some psychology courses (e.g., addictions, psychopathology, counseling theories) will be taught to naturopathic medical students as well.
Candidates must have a doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited institution with doctoral level license eligibility in the State of California. Successful candidates will also have demonstrated commitment to diversity and social justice, health psychology, and experience working within interdisciplinary health care settings.
