Bastyr University has an opportunity for a Director of Institutional Effectiveness.  

This position works collaboratively with leadership from administration and the academic units on the development of measureable objectives, indicators and benchmarks of quality that are aligned with the University’s mission and strategic/academic plans. The Director is responsible for conducting on-going research, including surveys and focus groups with key constituent groups, and analysis to support the strategic planning and administrative decision making process. The Director develops and manages the University's annual institutional effectiveness process to produce information that contributes to strategic planning, budget construction, improvement in internal operating efficiencies and reporting to external funding and accrediting agencies. The Director has access to the full range of institutional information and is responsible for maintaining official data for the institution for the purposes of institutional reporting, analyzing, and planning. Develop information for federal, state, accreditation agencies, and internal reporting purposes, including but not limited to IPEDS. Prepare institutional assessment reports for internal and external constituents. The Director will support, according to institutional priorities, data gathering and analysis activities for departments completing reports, preparing outcomes assessments, drafting proposals, or carrying out accreditation. Design and conduct internal studies as needed including creating new survey instruments and/or revising existing surveys for assessment and evaluation. The Director will keep abreast of new developments in the institutional research field that may impact the university.

Institutional Effectiveness
Position type: 
    • Master's degree in an education or science-related field required; a PhD in a related discipline is highly preferred.

    • Five years or more of experience with data management, analysis, and reporting required, preferably in a higher education environment.

    • Must have in-depth knowledge of quality assurance processes in higher education. 

    • Must have in-depth knowledge of database systems and querying information from both local and cloud-based sources such as SQL Server, SOAP APIs, etc.

    • Must have in-depth knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis. Exceptional skills using MS Office suite applications such as Word, Excel, PowerBI, etc.

    • This position requires the ability to meet multiple, time sensitive deadlines. 

    • Ability to make inferences from analyzed data.

    • Must have excellent communication skills and presentation skills.

    • Must be able to work independently with very limited direction.

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. Salary DOE + comprehensive benefits package, including Health, Dental & Vision, 403b plans, Section 125 plans and generous paid time-off.
