Duties

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Bastyr University is seeking a Teaching Fellow for the Department of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine (AEAM).  Must be a Washington State Licensed Acupuncturist with a Chinese Herbal Medicine Certificate, or equivalent.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Investigate, experience and develop a variety of pedagogies and learning situations. 
  • Work with a mentor to be a tutor for individual or group of students in an area of interest &/or departmental need.
  • Work with faculty members to prepare and facilitate student learning experiences including occasional guest lectures, specific TA roles, and tutoring opportunities.
  • Develop assessment design skills
  • Monitor and administer comprehensive exams.
  • Assist the chair and faculty of the Department of AEAM as needed.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including regular attendance.
Qualifications: 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a WA State licensed acupuncturist with a Chinese herbal medicine certificate, or equivalent. 
  • Must have the ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, electronic presentation, email, internet navigation and learning management system.
  • Candidate must possess excellent customer services skills, adept written and verbal communications, and expert organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Candidate must exercise good judgment and discretion in handling of sensitive information.
  • This position requires a background screening.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel required.
