Are you looking for a simple, effective way to bring Sound Therapy (sound healing) into your life? This workshop offers simple vocal, breath, movement, visualization and self-massage tools to help you be relaxed, centered and grounded in every moment of your day. Benefits include: 1. Join us Saturday - Sunday, June 9 & 10, 2018 Times: 9:30 a.m - 5:30 p.m Instructor: Arden Wilken (14 CEUs)

This workshop was developed by Arden Wilken, Co-Founder of INNER SOUND, and has be taught for over 20 years world-wide.

This workshop will enable you to create short self-care programs (from only a few minutes in length to longer programs) to incorporate into your daily routine to promote your wellness goals, whether to relax tension areas in your body, improve your posture, balance your emotions, tune your mind, support body healing, improve confidence, public speaking and performance, or develop a greater awareness of your energy body and field.
You will also learn to create a voice therapy protocol to help your patients do the same.  

DAY 1 OBJECTIVE:  Participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate warm-up exercises- freeing up the voice.
  • Demonstrate warm-up exercises- freeing up the connective tissue.
  • Demonstrate sound, self-massage & breath exercise to support body healing.
  • Demonstrate 5 vocalic sounds.
  • Demonstrate 5 vocalic sounds with movement.

DAY II OBJECTIVE:  Participants will learn how to create short self-care programs for themselves and others (patients) through: 

1. Learning the correct posture for optimal voice production
2. Humming circuit for whole body resonance and relaxation
3. Self-massage using heat, pressure, sound and movement to soften/unwind connective tissue tension spots
4. 5 vocalic sounds (vowels) and movements for balancing and integrating the emotions and field
5. Free sound for awareness


One hour lunch break – Bring a sack lunch or eat in Bastyr’s dining commons. Please note: Dining Commons closes at 2:00pm weekends.

Location: Bastyr University Kenmore Campus, room #55. Bastyr University is housed in an older facility with fluctuating interior temperatures; it is advisable to wear layers. Also, Bastyr is a “fragrance-free” campus.

Please Bring: Personal water bottle (filtered water dispensers available on campus to refill).

Arden Wilken, LMP
Arden Wilken is an American musician, composer of therapeutic music (29 CDs), sound therapist and body worker. She is co-founder of INNER SOUND (est.1978), an original system of sound therapy and therapeutic music. She developed the session protocols and the Basic & Advanced trainings for the INNER SOUND Spiral of 5ths tuning forks.  She co-authored with Jack Wilken the peer-reviewed article “Our Sonic Pathways”.
