Essential oils provide a full spectrum of healthy aging effects, skin healing properties, and skin conditioning and maintenance. This seminar will provide you with the skills to use aromatherapy for personal care and in the spa setting.

Fri, September 13, 4:00pm - 8:00pm
Sat & Sun, September 14 & 15, 9:30am-5:30pm.
Instructor: Jimm Harrison (17 CEUs, CME's)

Description: Essential oils may be one of the most effective ingredients for complete care, protection and regeneration of the skin. They have holistic potential that will treat skin conditions while simultaneously relieving emotions that may be a direct cause or aggravating the skin. By learning skin anatomy and physiology, the essential oil compounds that best address the functions of the skin and the many cosmetic application methods, you can effectively select essential oils for skin and spa products.

This seminar will explore the effect of diet and lifestyle on skin health, called “beauty inside out.” The importance of using high quality natural cosmetic ingredients with essential oils will be discussed along with an explanation of active and functional ingredients used in skin care.

The seminar is 20 hours, and includes 17 hours of classroom experience and three to six hours of self-study. Classroom experience will include lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice. To augment the kit of essential oils that you will bring to class, additional materials, bases and oils will be supplied by the instructor. A $50 lab fee to be paid to the instructor.

Topics Include:

  • The “beauty-health” connection
  • Holistic and integrative skin care
  • Skin physiology and anatomy
  • Chemistry and the Structure-Effect Diagram for skin
  • Application methods for skin and spa
  • Defining “natural” skin care products
  • Quality skin care products versus marketing programs

  • Four complete formulas for skin types
