How to Give
Instructions for transferring shares from another firm into the BASTYR UNIVERSITY brokerage account at Merrill Lynch.
A Letter of Authorization should be signed by anyone listed on your account. Your financial advisor/broker can assist.
The letter of authorization should include:
- The name and number of shares to be delivered
- For the account of:

Send a note to [email protected] and itemize your name, date you intend to transfer stocks and the area you would like to support with your gift.
Please note: Bastyr typically sells stocks once they are received. Your donor receipt letter from Bastyr will values the stock at the average price between the value of stock on day of donation and the value of stock on the day Bastyr sells the stock.
In the event you wish to send money through wire transfer from an account, please provide your bank or savings institution with the following:

If you let us know when you make a money transfer, we will ensure our finance department watches for the transaction so we can provide you with a donation receipt.
